Commercial Automobile Insurance

Commercial Automobile Insurance Policies are designed to provide both property and liability protection while operating a car, van, or truck in the course of business. Although there are a large number of coverages available on a standard Commercial Automobile Policy, a typical policy includes:

Automobile Liability: provides coverage for bodily injury and property damage to others who are damaged by an insured vehicle. Coverage includes medical expense, lost wages, pain & suffering, and legal defense.

Medical Payments: provides coverage for medical expenses for anyone in the insured vehicle who is physically injured in an accident involving the insured vehicle

Collision: provides coverage for the owned vehicles that are damaged by an impact with another vehicle or object

Other Than Collision: provides coverage for damage to the owned vehicle by any cause of loss other than collision and other items specifically excluded

Uninsured Motorist: provides coverage to the insured for bodily injury and property damage they have suffered as a result of an uninsured motorist

Underinsured Motorist: provides excess coverage to the insured for bodily injury and property damage they have suffered as a result of an underinsured motorist

Personal Injury Protection: provides coverage necessary to meet the requirements of the state mandated “no fault” coverage. Coverage provides medical expense and loss of income subject to policy limitations

Hired Car: provides coverage for the insured on any vehicle that is hired for the insured. A car, van, or truck must be hired for less than six months in order to be considered hired and not leased

Non-Owned Car: provides coverage for the employer when an employee or volunteer uses their vehicle in the course of business and causes third party damages

New Jersey law requires all commercial vehicles to carry public liability insurance in the amount of $35,000 Combined Single Limit. Although this is the minimum limit required by the State of New Jersey, high limits of liability protection are recommended in order to adequately protect your business’s financial interest.
