Umbrella or "Excess Liability" insurance provides your business with an extra layer of liability coverage in the event you incur a large claim, or a series of claims that exceed the limits of your underlying Commercial Auto, General Liability, and Employer’s Liability policies. In general, the Umbrella policy will increase your liability coverage in multiples of $1,000,000,000.
For example, if you carry a Commercial Auto liability limit of $1,000,000 and suffer a claim for $1,500,000, your Umbrella policy would pick up the additional $500,000 since the limit on your auto policy has already been exhausted.
There are several reasons why a company might need this additional coverage. Our office would be happy to assist you in determining if Umbrella Liability insurance is the right fit for your business. Please inquire within.
